Vitamix Blender - Not metal friendly

 

This morning I made my breakfast smoothie as usual using my Vitamix blender. To clean it I add a bleach tab and warm sudsy water in the dish pan and then pour it into the blender as I tend to use that water as my dishwashing water afterwards. As the blender was engaged I heard a clicking sound and became quite concerned. When I examined the water as I poured it out I discovered bits and pieces of metal. Knowing that the only solid thing I put in the blender was the bleach tablet I immediately accused that was the culprit. "But how can that be?" I thought to myself. The bleach tablet is made of power. It got more confusing as I washed the dishes only to discover more metal particles that clearly was more than the bleach tablet. Still confused I continued to rinse and dry the dishes. That's when I noticed the cap to the mason jar was missing a lid. As I inspected the metal fragments I pulled from the dishwater I realized that they were in fact from that missing lid. Somehow I missed it while pouring the dishwater into the blender.

I bought the Vitamix years ago as an alternative to the juice machine as I realized I was loosing a lot of the nutrients in fruits and vegetables by using a juicer. Since the Vitamix came highly recommend as a source to grind those fibers into water consistency I was sold. Now I have discovered, purely by accident, that it can also blend metal I had to share. I don't think I will ever need to blend up metal but it's good to know. I'm just saying - I got issues, what about you?)i(

Life can be Great!!

Good morning FB family. It's a great day to be alive. Nothing remarkable going on in my world. I am just happy to see the sun. No doubt there are some who did not wake up today and even more will not see the new year. I don't ever take life for granted anymore. I am here for the experience. So while many are living to die, I choose to live period. Everyday I do what I can to extend my life span. Truth is once I discovered the key to living a stress-free life I am in no rush to leave this realm. Everyday is an adventure. I am no longer preoccupied with the mundane issues that used to de-rail my life. I have tapped into creation itself and it is such a beautiful thing. Life still presents its challenges and people still do their best to irritate me but the beauty of it is I no longer react to them. I choose what I want to focus on. 

For example, the other day I was driving with my granddaughter as my car is in the shop for over a month now (no worries) when she pointed out an accident in front of us at the corner of Covington hwy and Lithonia Industrial. I looked but did not see it. All I saw were cars waiting for the light to change. My granddaughter was dumbfounded that I could not see the car that had slammed into the side of a truck. As we banked the corner and she kept pointing out the accident eventually I saw it. I was amazed at how I am able to fine-tune my awareness to block out the things that do not serve me. My granddaughter was amazed as well. I did not want to miss this teachable moment so I shared with her that whatever you focus on becomes your reality. We are all creators in our own right but if you keep observing other people's manifested creations, you will no doubt make it your own and bring that experience to yourself. 

Case in point. A few weeks ago a friend of mine shared with me about the many accidents she saw while driving to work. Every time we spoke she made it a point to tell me about these various car accidents. I cautioned her to stop observing them or at best to not keep speaking about them or else she will draw it to herself. She did not listen to my admonishment. A few days after our last conversation she called to report that she totaled her car. I was not surprised.

The thing is, whether or not you subscribe to the belief that you draw the things you focus on to yourself or that you are a creator does not matter. Everyone does it either by default or on purpose. Being ignorant of the laws of the universe is no excuse. We all eventually manifest what we focus on. How quickly it manifests depends on how we feel about the thing we focus on. 

My suggestion to you is to try focusing on the good things but more importantly make feeling good your priority. Remember thoughts become things and you get what you expect. So always think good thoughts and always, always expect the best. I'm just saying. I got issues. What about you?)i(

TSA/Homeland Security Travel Restrictions

It's been over 20 years since 9/11 and yet we are still experiencing the aftermath of that tragedy. Some might even go so far as to say we are being victimized yet again. Especially when it comes to traveling. We all know that Homeland security and was created after 9/11 to help curtail the threat of another attack or at least that is what they would like us to believe. And TSA increased their strictness on what you can and cannot bring on an airplane for seemingly that same reason. I am all for increasing safety but my biggest issue is after all this time we still cannot bring water through security. So you're trying to tell me that TSA and Homeland security cannot figure out a way how to test water to determine whether or not it is an agent that can be used to bring down a plane? They pull out their little gadget to swab your hands and swab your suitcase when they suspect that you might have been handling bomb making material so why they can't develop something to determine whether or not your water is a solution that can be used to bring down the plane? To me the easiest way to test that is to just have people take a drink of their water. But we all know water is not the issue.

The issue is that 911 created an opportunity for airport vendors to capitalize on the restrictions. 

After 9/11 a lot of things were just ruled out as inadmissible to take on a plane. A lot of people's stuff was thrown away because they did not meet the three ounce requirement even though the container may say more than 3 oz you can clearly see that the item in the container was less than 3 oz but they just had you throw it away anyway. It's almost like they could not think for themselves. What TSA reps failed to understand is that guidelines are something that you use as a gauge. You have to use your own judgment to determine what fits and what doesn't fit. But like so many people today, they cannot think for themselves and have to rely on a script so to speak in order to do their jobs. I can't tell you how many times people have echoed that they have to throw away their food because a TSA agent determined that it was not suitable to go on the plane. I myself had to throw away food that you obviously can look at it and tell it is food and nothing that you can use to bring down a plane. 

Bottomline is after 21 years TSA and Homeland security needs to develop a formula to help determine whether or not our water is safe for consumption. It's not fair for us to have to pay $5 or $10 for a bottle of water at the airport when we could get that same bottle of water at a convenience store for a buck and a half. I'm just saying. Elections 2022

Across the country,, today November 8th, is Midterm Elections. Many may not go out to vote because they have lost faith in the system. I encourage you to go make your voices heard

Here in Georgia the Governor race between Stacey Abrams and Brian Kemp is at the forefront. Governor Kemp has launched a few ads claiming that Stacey Abrams blindly follows President Biden and is solely responsible for throwing America into recession. In fact he goes so far as to caution voters not to let Stacey Abrams do to Georgia what she did to America.

First off last time I checked Georgia was in America so if she damaged America, she damaged Georgia but we know that is not the case. secondly how can one woman have that much power? Especially when there are checks and balances in place to safeguard against such tyranny? Clearly Governor Kemp think people are stupid and won't question his remarks.

Listen, recession does not happen overnight. As a country we have been inching towards it for years. It just so happened that it came to existence during the Biden Administration. There is no way one person can cause a recession.

Governor Kemp has made some crucial decisions which have negatively impacted the quality of life for Georgians. He made it easy for criminals to carry a concealed weapon, he signed a no condition abortion bill, and made a fiscal of a stimulus program to aide the states needy families. His disregard for the safety and well-being of the people of Georgia is a public record.

Everyone is entitled to their views and opinions. There is no need to complain about the state of affairs if you are not willing to do anything about it. Whatever your motivation let it propel you to go out and vote. I'm just saying - I got issues. What about you?)(

Georgia's $350 Stimulus Payment - Card Unlocked

Governor Brian Kemp approved a one time $350 stimulus payment for Georgia's needy families ie anyone receiving SNAP, Medicaid, TANIF benefits before August 2022. The payment is issued on a virtual Mastercard if they are signed up for email notifications or an actual card will be mailed to them if they are signed up for mail notifications in the gateway system.

A number of people are still having issues accessing the funds on the card. I have discovered that one of the issues is that the card may be locked.

So let's say they get an email notification about the virtual card, they will need to click the link in the email which will take them to the online portal that they can view and activate the card. They will be promoted to enter their client ID and date of birth to gain access. Then they will be promoted to create a user name and pin for the account. Once that is done they can view the card number, expiration date, and CVV number which they can then enter into their Walmart, Google, or Apple pay.

The key thing that may be the main issue why a lot of people are not able to use the card is that it may be locked. In the portal there is a lock button on the profile. Make sure it is set to "unlock" otherwise it won't work.

I don't know why that feature is not set to "unlock" automatically or why it is even necessary but I am sure there is a valid reason for it. I just don't know what it is.

It just seems to me that this whole process could have been more simple if the state had just opted to do direct deposit or issue checks. There is no doubt in my mind that a lot of this money will go unclaimed either because people cannot access the card or they grow frustrated trying to use it to no avail. Auntie Anne's Pretzel

 

It's been years since I've had a pretzel from Auntie Anne's so today I decided to treat myself.  I was in the mall with a friend and I talked her into letting us have some pretzels as a treat. I was very disappointed in what we got. First the pretzels were noticeably thinner than I remember. They were also hard and dry. I know we are seeing an inflation with everything but the price we paid for what we got left a lot to be desired. I think each franchise is  independently owned but I don't think I will be visiting another Auntie Anne's anytime soon.  I'm just saying. I got issues, what about you?)i(

Walmart's Refunf Policy

 

Did a price adjustment on an item I used split payment the other day. Walmart associate tried to give me a gift card claiming the system won't let him put it back on either card.    However on my insistence the manager was able to refund the amount to one of the cards used to make the purchase. A few days later I witnessed a customer with the exact issue being told she would have to accept a gift card because the system would not allow him to put the refund on either of the cards she paid with. The customer rejected the gift card and left with the item. Attempts to educate him on the possibility to override the system and force the refund onto one of the cards was met with hostility.

Walmart needs to educate it's managers across stores to 1: offer exceptional customer service and 2: to allow customers to receive refunds in the method of payment, split payment or otherwise. Forcing a customer to accept a gift card when the method of payment was a credit card is unfair. While they may very well shop at a Walmart in the very near future, they don't know what expenses the customer has. Bottomline customers should get their refund in the method they paid. I understand with cash purchases with no receipt there may be conditions but if the method of payment is clearly a credit card, split payment or not, they should  get the refund back to one of those cards if not both. Be a Leader not a Borrower

 

Over the years I have prayed to be a leader not a borrower. In time it has become my reality. Friends and family seem to think I am rich. Mostly because they don't ever hear me complaining about finances and I no longer bother them for financial help. At times, if it is a small amount I just give it away but if they insist it is a loan I expect to get repaid So while I lend money freely without reservation, I can't seem to get people to pay me back. I get the usual excuses ie I will pay you back when I get my paycheck or I will pay you back next week but they don't. Listen if they would give me $5 a week, they could pay me back sooner than later. 

What some people don't seem to understand is that money flows when you let it go. If your hand is closed and you only open it to receive them you are blocking your energy. Stop being stingy. Pay your bills and repay people when you borrow from them!! Anytime you release money, it will come back to you.  

On another note if you know you can afford to pay the money back, then ask if they can give it to you. Let them decide what they can afford to give you. Likewise if you know you can give them the money then just give it with no expectations of getting it back. if you expect to be paid back and you already know they are not good for it, then gracefully say no to their request. You only get one chance to screw me over. once I realize that you are not someone who pays their debt I will never lend you money again. 

Remember what you give freely will always come back to you no matter the situation. lend or give, it comes back. Purpose in your heart to be a leader not a borrower. I'm just saying. Governor Kemp $350 Georgia Stimulus Payment

 

Governor Brian Kemp announced that he's giving needy families in Georgia $350 starting this week. it looks like the method by which he is given the payment out is via electronic credit card or an actual credit card depending on how the participants are registered in the portal. Either way it's going to create a problem when they try to use it. First of all they cannot withdraw any money from the card. They cannot deposit the money into their Bank account. They can only use it where Apple pay and Google pay is accepted and perhaps even their Walmart pay. outside of that people who get the electronic card will have to be savvy enough to know how to use it in order to cash it in. Seems like this is a ploy to keep much of the money on the table as a lot of the recipients will not be able to access or utilize that money based on what I've seen and read.

I called the governor's office to voice my concern and was told by his representative that the person who does receive a hard card in the mail will be able to go to an ATM and withdraw that money. However information that I have seen online from various sources including patch.com

indicates that is not the case. There is no way to withdraw cash money either electronically or via the hard card that would be useful or beneficial for the people receiving it in order to pay their rent or utilities. Thus creating a hardship. Perhaps I am missing something but it seems to me that if the Governor really want to help the needy families in Georgia he would have adopted the same protocol as the Federal Government where they did direct deposit into people's bank accounts or sent them a check in the mail. You got the power to change your life

 

It is a great day to be alive. So many wonderful things to see and do. Unfortunately too many of us spend our days worrying about stuff we have no control over, ie who likes or don't like us, trying to find a good job, how to pay a past due bill etc. and miss the opportunity to really enjoy life.

If I can offer one piece of advice that can be applied to your whole Be-ing it is to know exactly what it is you truly want in this life, i.e. prefect job, perfect partner, being debt free etc. Once you have a clear picture of what that would look like, start feeling the way you would feel if that shit was true. I mean go to sleep at night as if he/she is right there with you. Feel the security of knowing your bills are all paid off and you owe nothing to no one but to love them.  Feel as though you already have what you want and how that would make you feel. If it is a new job, Imagine working at the perfect job with everything you can imagine in place. Then fall asleep at night playing a typical day at work in your mind. Hear the things you want to hear. See things happening the way you want it to happen and feel good as you drift off to sleep. Do that every night and trust me it will become your reality. 

It is not your job to make it happen. The details of how it will come about is not your business . Your only job/task is to feel good like the shit already happened/is in place. Then wait for it.  You may get inspired to take a different route to work and happen upon the perfect person and or job opportunity. Or you may see or hear something that pushes you in the direction of your desire to be debt free or whatever it is you desire. The trick is to don't let yourself get hung up on the details of how or when it will happen. Just know that it will happen. 

This is how I live my life. I know my perfect partner is making his way towards me so I no longer waste my time trying to make it happen nor do I waste any time on the seemingly lacks in my life. As I released the reins, something wonderful happened -  I discovered how stressfree life can be. I have more brain energy to focus on what really matters - letting my happiness flow from within. My happiness is no longer tied to a person, place or thing. What I thought I needed to make me happy is really not necessary at all as I can be happy without them. So while I would still like them, it is more for the experience and not so much for my happiness because I am already happy. I'm just saying, I got issues. What about you?)i(

Do not Conform/Assimilate

It is a beautiful day to be alive. This year alone I have lost over a half a dozen friends and acquaintances and it's only August.  Oddly enough they all passed due to some illness or just failed to wake up. And yet I am surrounded by more who are suffering from Illness.  

Reflecting makes me more determined to continue to take good care of myself so that I will not become a burden on my children. In fact I am more committed than ever to embracing my lifestyle more intensely. 

I have a fairly quiet lifestyle, although some days can be hectic and  exhausting at times,  but it is one that serves me, not the other way around. I sleep until I wake up then I do what I am inspired to do not motivated to do. Here's the difference. Inspiration comes from within and requires very little effort on my part but always succeeds while motivation comes from without, requires great effort, and may or may not succeed depending on my motivational levels.  

Since I lost my job in 2011 I have adapted to a more suitable way of life. In the beginning it was due to some health challenges and a couple of car accidents, but the past 5 years have been by design. People speak of emanating a certainty type of  lifestyle i.e. Rastafarianism, Christianity, Judaism, etc. but for me it is more than that. Demographics and cultural conditioning may cause one to adopt certain lifestyle habits, but consciousness/awakening will cause one to evolve into one's true nature/self. Free from the cumbersome things that can weigh heavy on the mind thus causing dis-ease in the body resulting in some form of illness. That is what happened to me. As I learned to embrace my true self, something wonderful happened. I became whole and my happiness and joy flowed from within. For me, this is who I am naturally and not what I was conditioned to be. Conditioning would have me staying up nights worrying about things I cannot control.  It would have me looking haggard and old. I denounce conditioning.  I do not imitate nor do I assimilate. I no longer conform to what society says I should or should not do.  I conform to what the Universe says I am. I live my life by the principles set forth by the Universe, not by man. Oddly enough man has adopted some of the Universe's principles and presented them in a way that restricts the benefits through something called religion. As such people have been misled to think they can only access these benefits if they follow the rules set forth in the Bible. Lots of restrictions come with that way of thinking.  A thinking which construes and limits one's ability to truly live one's life as the Creator intended. It is a kin to mental slavery. Bob Marley said it best "emancipate yourself from mental slavery. None but ourselves can free our minds". I have listened to Bob Marley's songs for years and can even sing the words by heart but it was not until my awakening did I truly understand what he was talking about. With that understanding came clarity. With clarity came a change and that change caused me to evolve into the true meaning of my name  - "Right and Proper". There is no other way for me to be.

People may not understand who I have evolved into. Some have said that I have strayed away from God and no longer believe. Some say I have an "unfamiliar spirit" on me and no longer want to associate with me because they have been conditioned to believe that an "unfamiliar spirit" is evil.  To them I say you are so wrong. Fact is I have gotten closer to God and that "unfamiliar spirit" they refer to is my true self emerging. Truth is I have tapped into God. Coming into knowing who I am and the power that comes from knowing who I am is worth the time I took to get here and the people I have lost. That glow you see on my face is the essence of pure happiness. 

They say the camera captures your spirit. Well take a good look at my image. Can you see happiness and joy? That my friends is that unfamiliar spirit. Unfamiliar because not too many people have it. 

I encourage you to seek happiness and joy that comes from within. It is life changing. I'm just saying - I got issues, what about you?)i(

Georgia's Primaries 2022

Last week while speaking to my daughter I was reminded that early voting for Georgia primaries was in progress. Actual Primaries Election day is May 24, 2022. I thought it was odd that I did not receive an absentee ballot in the mail even though I signed up to receive one for all future elections. I try to believe that there is always a rational explanation for everything even when that reason is not immediately clear. So when I did not receive an absentee voting ballot for the upcoming elections, I opted to go vote in person.

Truth is with all the hoopla and accusations about voter/vote suppression,  one could quickly jump to the assumption that my not receiving the ballot in the mail is apart of those efforts. I have no way of knowing for sure if I was the only one who did not get an absentee ballot in the mail. 

Trying to remember if I was required to request one every time there was an election but I am pretty sure that I checked the box requesting future absentee ballots be mailed to me at the time I filled out the form. Maybe it was just for the presidential election and primaries are not included. But that seems crazy to me. Anyone who has been approved to receive an absentee ballot for the presidential elections should also be approved to receive one for all elections.  I actually received 2 identical ballots in the mail for the presidential elections. Of course I only returned one.

Whether or not my not receiving an absentee ballot in the mail was on purpose or not, I am glad I had the presence of mind to go vote despite the hardship it entailed. I felt I needed to say something just in case there are others out there who are waiting on the ballot to come in the mail. While it took great effort on my part to actually go vote in person I am sure there are those who can not go physically and therefore will not cast a vote.

I don't readily know how to fix this issue but thought writing about it will shed some light on an issue that may not be obvious. Hopefully someone who can do something about this will see this post. If you know someone who is unable to physically go out and vote, take steps to see what you can do to aid them in casting their vote.  It would be a shame if everyone who is entitled to vote via an absentee ballot were to lose that opportunity due to an oversight or worst. Brian Kemp for Governor? I don't think so!!

 

So the other day a popular local news channel announced that Georgia no longer requires a carry permit for a concealed weapon. "Ok" I thought. "How interesting. What brought that about?" You may already know that nothing happens in a vacuum. So I was waiting for the other shoe to drop. Did not have to wait long as a few days later it was reported by that same local news channel that the crime rate in Atlanta was at an "all time high." You think? What did you think was going to happen when you removed the requirements for carrying a gun? I don't know what elite person has Brian Kemp in their pocket that persuaded him to lift the need for a carry permit for a concealed weapon but that was clearly a bad idea.

I am sure there are other factors that contributed to the crime rate increase in Atlanta, but I promise you that this decision only added to the issue.  In what universe is allowing anyone the freedom to carry a conceal weapon with out a permit is a good thing? I am lost for words. I just know that come election time, Governor Kemp will not be getting my vote. I need a leader who can put the need of the people ahead of his own political agenda. Someone who sees the welfare of the community as priority more than lining his pocket. 

Everyday someone dies as a result of gun violence. It is hard enough to keep up with the people we know has a gun. Now we have to worry about the ones who may be concealing one without a permit. Now everybody can carry a gun without prior evaluation of their mental capacity to do so. No background check required. No history of past violence evaluated. Just go out and buy a gun and you good. If you ask me, we are less safe now. It could be the clerk at the courthouse who had a bad day and just whips it out. Or the bus boy at the local restaurant who got pissed of because he got a lousy tip. Who knows what is about to be unleashed. But one thing is for sure, it won't be good. There was a reason why a carry permit was required in the first place. Did that reason suddenly make no sense?

Well since we getting rid of senseless reasons and the laws that supported them how about revisiting why I need to renew my drivers license every year or why I need to have it on me while operating a vehicle? Times have changed right? I mean back in the day the only way a police officer knew for sure you were authorized (had training) to operate a vehicle safely was by you showing proof of a driver's license. Now we have advanced technology were an officer can download your whole history with just a touch of a button. He can tell if your car insurance is up to date as well as if you have any outstanding warrants. All from the comfort of his cruiser. So tell me again why in this day and age people are still being hauled into court because they did not have their valid driver's license on them at the time they were operating a vehicle and their driver's license was not suspended or expired? Did they suddenly forgot how to drive? Did they develop amnesia and could not remember their name? I have lived at the same address for 25 years. My name, eye color, and smile has been consistently the same. My weight too, as no one bothers to verify it short of asking me. So for all intent and purposes I have been a solid 175 lbs for the past 27 years. You think the officer who pulled me over cares about my weight or eye color accuracy? Hell no. All I am saying is that the thought process to arrive at the decision to revoke the carry law has to be flawed.

Georgia is home to more than the rich and elite. We have people who are homeless. People who are poor and people who are what some refer to as "middle class". A person's social status should not determine how much protection they get under the law. We are all human beings. We all put on our drawers/underwear one leg at a time. We all deserve to feel safe no matter who we are. Brian Kemp has failed Georgia in more ways than one. This banishment of the conceal weapon permit is the last straw for me. I'm just saying - I got issues. What about you?)i(

The Game Called "Life"

 In my quest for the truth I have discovered that people have been conditioned to believe in things outside of themselves. They have willingly given over their inherited power to others. As a result they go through life not knowing the power they posses - the power to change their situations and experiences. They watch news media and follow social media trends which further conditions them to act, speak, and expect certain things. They do not take the time to question anything nor do they research anything for themselves. They are in fact akin to sheep's being lead to their slaughter. They pass on emails and text messages which are equivalent to chain letters like back in day. In so doing they spread lies, half truths, and ignite fear.

They also fail to realize that there are a few players who have mastered the "game" of life and are manipulating the masses as pawns. They tell them what to like and dislike. What to believe and disbelieve. What to wear, eat, drink etc. They even manipulate what they deem to be "social issues" and they do it all in their mind. This is a mental universe. Everything you see, hear, feel, and touch was created in the mind first before it manifested. Everyone has this ability but few choose to harvest it let alone practice it willfully. They are consciously asleep and are thus subjected to be used as "pawns" for the benefit of the "masters".  I encourage you to wake up. Stop following the masses. Research for yourself and become a "player" instead of remaining a "pawn". I'm just saying - I got issues. What about you?)i(

 I rarely get to drive in the HOV lane but recently I took advantage of the opportunity while transporting my grand children to and from my house. Yesterday I am driving on I-20 east in the HOV lane  when the truck behind me flashes me - blink their headlights repeatedly to get me to move out the way. I also noticed they were right on my tail. I mean if I braked they would be up my ass.

Knowing I was doing the speed limit I opted to ignore them. They continued to flash me. I kindly took my feet off the gas and allowed the car to roll on its kinetic energy. They eventually passed me and went on their way. This is not the first time this has happened.

It seems to me that some drivers think that the HOV lane is a speed lane. Last time I checked there is no speed lane on I-20. The maximum speed for all lanes can vary between 65 or 70 mph depending on location. The minimum speed is 40mph. Drivers doing less than the posted speed limit are encouraged to use the right/exit lane to not impede traffic.

My thing is this, if I am doing the maximum speed limit and the person behind me wants to go faster they can just go around me. I am not moving. If I find myself doing less than the maximum speed limit I have no problem moving over. But I refuse to let other drivers bully me into increasing my speed when I am already doing the maximum. I'm just saying. I got issues. What about you?)i(

Dekalb Police Department - Nonresponsive

So I've lived in my house for 24 years. Never had any problems with my neighbors until three or four years ago when some new people moved in across the street. The husband drives a flatbed truck which he regularly parks adjacent to my driveway. Despite my asking him to not park Infront of my drive way several times, he continues to do so. Sure he would move it when I ask but would go right back to parking it adjacent to my drive way the next day which creates an issue for me because if I am not mindful that it is there, I can easily slam into it when I reverse out my driveway. So I have to try to remember it is there and be careful not to hit it. Trust me I have had a few close calls and even bumped it a few times.  

During the day it's okay because I can see it in my rear view mirror, but at night it's hard to see the flatbed and if you're not thinking about it you can easily slam into it. Which is what happened to my daughter. She was reversing back, didn't see it and ended up messing up the trunk of her car. In fact a friend of mines now refuses to come to my house at night because she hit her car twice.

I knocked on the neighbor's door, it took some time but eventually he came out. He was so callous and nonchalant. I mean he didn't sermon concerned enough to comet see the damage to my daughter's car. All he did was ask how much space I need or do I just don't want him to park there? Dude I just told you that my daughter backed into it and that myself and others have also backed into it and you asking me where do I want you to park the truck? Really? How about not parking adjacent to my driveway anymore? It is inconceivable to me that people can be so inconsiderate about the hardship they cause for others. Knowing that I have asked several times before not to park Infront my driveway because it impedes my ability to come and go freely without stressing over the possibility of hitting the flatbed, why would he keep doing it? 

So in frustration I called Dekalb finest #dekalbpolice to see if I could get some advice on what to do. That turned out to be a waste of time. First off the officer never came. I was sitting in the living room waiting for them. After some time I picked up my phone to call them again only to see two missed calls. One was from a private number. I called back the other number only to get a recording indicating the number was linked  to the police department. So I called back the non emergency number I called earlier to inquire where the officers were. I was told that the officer came by and no one answered the door. I politely informed the lady that no one came to my house. I heard no knock at the door nor did my ring door bell record any activity in the vicinity of my door/house. Not even a passing car. I stopped short of saying the officer lied, he never came. She seemed annoyed and said the officer would not ring the door bell he would knock. Maybe it's just me but I could swear I told her there was no knock or any activity at my front door since my daughter left. She went on to say that the officer reported that he called me but got no answer and there was no vehicle blocking my driveway.  She eventually asked if I wanted the officer to come back to which I said "yes please".

Two minutes later I got a call from a private number. Upon answering the officer identified himself and said he came by earlier but did not see any vehicle blocking my driveway. Obviously the operator did not share my issue with him. After explaining to him what transpired earlier and that the neighbor did move his vehicle like he usually after I complained but I am sure it will be back there tomorrow. I shared that I just need to know what recourse I have if any. He said he could probably go talk to the neighbor but he does not think it would make a difference especially since he was sure there was no HOA in place. At this point I realized it was pointless to continue the conversation so I just thanked him for his time and ended the call. What a waste. He showed no concern about my plight. Tell me again why we pay these people to protect and serve when they clearly have no desire to help? I'm just saying. I got issues. What about you?)i(

Airline Experience

When I left home this morning I knew this was going to be a great experience. I am on my way to Cancun via Frontier Airline and I can honestly say that in all the years that I have traveled I have never encounter a rep like I did when I checked in. I am impressed. So much so that I had to share.

April was amazing. She was respectful, courteous, and friendly. She politely asked me to remove my passport from its cover and to place my luggage on the scale. Her mannerism was on point. If that was not enough, after she handed me my boarding pass and passport she gave me unsolicited detailed directions on how to get to the security check point and to my gate including the gate number.  April raised the bar on my expectations. It was a pleasure to encounter her. Now if other airlines would rise to the challenge it would be amazing. I'm just saying - I got issues, what about you?)i(

Traveling during the Pandemic

 I love to travel and today Is a great day to travel somewhere. In fact I am at the Atlanta Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport waiting to board a flight. People ask me why I travel so much with covid on the rise? I tell them it is because I am not afraid. Also when I go to other countries, their precautions are on point. They follow all the CDC's guidelines and then some. Like at the Dominican Republic airport, there is someone stationed at the restroom who wipes down toilets, stalls, and mops the floor after each use. At the hotel when you walk in there is a wet mat at the door for you to wipe your shoes on, then you step on a dry one. As soon as you step on the dry one an attendant takes up the wet mat and takes it outside to hose it off. Meanwhile another attendant is mopping the floor and yet another is wiping off the counter tops between guest. Everyone wears a mask and for the most part keep their distance. Unlike my experience here on the mainland, you have to show your negative covid test results or vaccination card to go into public places including the bank. #Walmart says you don't have to wear a mask if you are vaccinated, yet there is no one checking to ensure the people who walk in without wearing a mask is vaccinated. No one is  wiping down carts or cleaning bathroom stalls after each use like they did when the pandemic first started. And they wonder why the virus is spreading - smh.

 

Anyway back to my issue. I must say that the whole experience thus far as been great as far as timing goes. But in terms of covid-19 precautions, there is much to be desired. Took #Marta from Indian Creek to the airport. Only issue worth mentioning is that there was no cleaning or sterilization of the train between arrival and departure at the train station. Indian Creek is the last/first stop on the Blue line. Train pulled. People got off and people got on. Waited 10 minutes before train pulled off. No one cleaned or sanitized the seats or rails.

Got to the airport and went through security. No body wiped down bins or common areas where people congregate. Process went quickly. I was impressed that I did not have to show my boarding pass to the TSA agent, only my ID which she scanned. Assuming my name popped up on the electronic passenger list. I like that!!! Bag and body screening went quickly and uneventful. I like that!!! Maybe I am getting better at following directions ie putting liquids in clear plastic bags and placing them in the bin for scanning 😂.

Got to the departure gate with hours to spear. Shoot if I had known how effortless the process would be I could have slept another hour. Oh well. Glad I made it.

So while I am at the gate a janitor came by and swept up the trash on the floor. He missed a few pieces of trash that was under the seat Infront of me. I don't know how he missed it as it was visible from a standing vantage point. Trust me, I checked.  Made me think of my last trip to DR and how I observed their janitor cleaning the windows and ledge even in areas people don't access. I remember thinking to myself, "these people clean like I do in my house." I can honestly say I had never seen that level of cleaning at the airport in the US. Then as soon as I had that thought there was a gate change. Cool cause I was thinking earlier that I would prefer to be sitting in the sun one gate down from where I was. Where is the new gate? One gate down from where I was. Now I am sitting in the sun observing trash and dirty windows and ledges. Few minutes after I got to the new gate a female janitor came by and cleaned the windows but did not touch the ledges. Interesting.

With all the hoopla about covid cases increasing, it is mind boggling to me that people are not taking the necessary precautions to reduce the spread of the virus. I see people wearing mask incorrectly - covering their mouth but not their nose or the mask just hanging around their ears with both nose and mouth exposed. Not practicing social distancing - crunched up in line through TSA check point, on escalators, and on the sky train between gates. I can control my distance between me and the other passengers Infront of me on the escalator by allowing 6 steps to pass before I get on or allowing space infront of me in the line but behind me they just jammed up on me like we dating. From what I am observing, most people are just not mindful of practicing social distancing when they are at the airport. I am about to ask people to back the f@$# up off of me. I'm just saying, I got issues. What about you?)i(
